Every zone within the NASENI-TROMENT facility is purpose-built and ISO 13485-compliant, designed for a specific stage of the diagnostic manufacturing and quality assurance process.
RDT Production Area
The heart of the facility. Lateral flow rapid diagnostic test strips are manufactured end to end, from uncut sheet substrate through cutting, reagent application, lamination, and final strip production. Fully automated lines.
QA/QC & Regulatory
Dedicated quality assurance and quality control laboratory. Every production batch is tested against ISO 13485 standards before release. Regulatory affairs team manages NAFDAC, WHO, and international registration processes.
Molecular Area
Advanced molecular biology capabilities for RT-PCR kit production and next-generation diagnostic development. Research and development of new assay formats and disease targets. Houses the scientific foundation of the 500+ product pipeline.
Extraction Area
Dedicated space for the extraction and preparation of biological and chemical components used in assay production. Controlled environment ensures reagent integrity and prevents cross-contamination across product lines.
Plastic Cassette Molding
The defining differentiator. In-house plastic injection molding for the cassette housings used in every rapid test. The only facility in Africa producing these in-house. No importing, no sub-contracting, just full vertical integration from raw plastic to finished device.
Training Centre
Purpose-built training facility for scientists, laboratory technicians, quality control personnel, and production staff. Hosts technology transfer sessions, onboarding programmes, and ongoing skills development. Building Nigeria's biotech human capital.
Warehouses & Logistics
Temperature-controlled storage for raw materials, components, and finished products. Distribution logistics hub for national and export markets. Capacity scaled for 600 million units per year throughput across ECOWAS and international channels.

Uncut Sheet Technology
The production of lateral flow diagnostic test strips begins with uncut nitrocellulose membrane sheets. Antibodies and reagents are applied, dried, and the sheets are cut into individual strips on automated precision cutting lines, all within the facility. This is the technology that most manufacturers import.
Automated Cutting & Assembly
Precision automated lines handle the cutting of test strips to exact specifications, placement into cassette housings, lamination, and final assembly. Automation ensures consistency across production runs of any scale, from small clinical batches to full export volumes.
Plastic Injection Molding
Every cassette housing, the plastic shell that holds the diagnostic strip and sample well, is produced in-house via injection molding. This single capability is what makes NASENI-TROMENT genuinely independent. No competitor in Africa can say the same.
RT-PCR Kit Production
Beyond lateral flow assays, the facility's molecular area produces RT-PCR (Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction) test kits, the molecular diagnostics used for highly accurate detection of viral and bacterial pathogens, including COVID-19.

WHO Pre-Qualification
WHO PQ is the gateway to global procurement by UNICEF, the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, MSF, and other major international health organisations. Expected completion: 2025-2026.
Health Canada
Registration with Health Canada opens access to the Canadian market and broader international markets that accept Health Canada approval as a reference standard. TROMENT has active commercial relationships in Canada.
